How to Apply
Applications from Individuals
The application process is quite straightforward. We want to encourage those in genuine need to seek support from the fund at this difficult time. We do, of course, need to ask some quite detailed questions about your circumstances in order to make a fair assessment of your application.
Your application should be supported by a "referee": someone in a recognised official position in the Waverley community. For example, your referee might be:
-
An Adult Social Services staff member
-
A Citizens Advice Waverley staff member
-
A local councillor (Waverley or Town/Parish council)
-
A church official
-
Your GP or solicitor.
Follow the following steps:
-
Download the application form here.
-
Read the Guidance notes (on page 2 of the form) and complete all sections, apart from Section 2 giving as much detail and being as specific as possible. (For example, please explain if you need money for a new piece of equipment or to pay the gas bill, rather than just saying you need money).
-
Ask your referee to complete Section 2 of the form to support your application.
-
Send us the form:
-
Either by email to rotaryc19fund@gmail.com
-
or by post to:
Rotary Waverley-wide Covid Support Fund,
c/o Godalming Town Council, Municipal Buildings, Bridge Street, Godalming, GU7 1HT
We will aim to respond to each application received within 10 days.
Applications from Schools / Community Groups
There is a separate form for Schools or Community Groups, which can be downloaded here.
Similarly, please read the Guidance Notes on page 2 of the form, complete it with as much detail as possible and send it to us, preferably by email to rotaryc19fund@gmail.com

FAQs
-
Do I need a referee to apply?
We will consider applications without a referee, but they will have a much higher chance of being approved if supported by an independent person of standing in the community.
-
How much can I ask for?
We have a usual upper limit of £300 but we have some flexibility. We can envisage some situations where a grant much higher than this may make a significant difference. We try and balance expected need with known cases. In some situations, a grant of £100 is enough, but we expect this level to be much higher in the present circumstances
